The 12 volt battery cell won't shock you, but a cattle fence will because the voltage is increased in much the same way that a Police Taser works, they are 12 volts DC as well.
I know what I'm talking about, because before I suggest anything to anyone I try it on myself first to see if I survive it and it is potentially helpful to me, then if it ticks all of the right boxes, i pass it on.

When I was a young person, my father got me to touch the spark plug leads of the car, well my first car, "to see if there was any electricity passing through" and I got one Hell of a shock from the spark plug leads when he turned the engine over with the ignition key - Bastard. Most mechanics wear rubber gloves these days and I'm betting you do too, so you would not get a shock from the spark plug leads if you touched them, would you?
I touched a Cattle electric fence some years ago and got a shock from it, enough to let go immediately, there would be not much point having an electric fence to keep cattle in the field they are in, would there, if it did nothing to keep them in.
The airports in Africa are surrounded by electric fences to keep the big animals away from the aircraft runways, elephants and the like and they tend to keep them out, simply from the shock that the animals get - DC not AC that is.

The Coil enhances the 12 Volt DC spark from the 12 Volt DC Battery, which is distributed to the spark plugs via the spark plug leads to get the best and strongest spark, to fire the petrol vapor under compression in the engine cylinder, the bang which, in firing sequence, turns the engine over and causes it to run. When you touch those leads with a cold engine and have someone turn over the engine once, I can assure you, you get one hell of a shock, it won't kill you, or even hurt you, but if you have something in your blood injected, or you don't want there, that one engine revolution will kill it off dead - what my father did to me when I was young and trusting because he was a Cunt and he knew he was and enjoyed being one.

12 volt won’t shock you...just so you know. If you short the leads on your tongue you MIGHT get a tingle comparable a rectangular 9 volt battery.

Google search “spark plug voltage” and you will find all sorts of manufacturer’s specs...none of which will be 12 volts.
Spark plug voltage is 18-24k volts. Not 12.
