Today, Digital ID is for Businesses and Individuals
it is not we the consumer that the Digital ID is intended for
25 plus years ago I worked in the Education Departments Apprenticeship and Traineeship Department and it was a requirement that all Employers had Accreditation, so that the Apprenticeships and Traineeship people they trained, would have the necessary skills learned, to meet the requirements, as set out as part of their eventual Trade accomplishments.
15 Years ago, all businesses had to achieve a yearly or every 2 years, Accreditation, to confirm that their standards of excellence met the Accreditation that they were rewarded with and which they needed to update and their skills in their chosen profession, to remain in business.
Today, Digital ID is for Businesses and Individuals, who provide goods and services to us the Consumer and it is not we the consumer that the Digital ID is intended for, but the suppliers of those services. so where before Accreditation was a document on a shop window or in a business on a wall, now, with Digital ID, they can all be gathered togther and accessed in one location, digitally, by all, but both the suppliers and their customers, as proof of excellence.
Lets take banking for example, of what we can expect as digitization takes over from "the ways things used to be done"
I have my online Banking, as I imagine you do to. If you try to pay by cash now, the Retailer can tell you to take your money and bank it and then pay by your MasterCard, or some other form of digital payment, because most businesses don't accept cash anymore.
Personally, after a considerable fight and refusal to do online banking, I have agreed to do it and it is very convenient not carrying cash anymore, or having beggars begging for small change and I can't be a robbery victim, when I'm not carrying any cash, anymore, but there are of course disadvantages - Garage Sales and Swap Meets have probably ceased to function, pretty much, where previously the exchange of cash for second hand goods, made life, when times were hard, much easier to manage.
When notes and coin no longer exist and we are all trained to do digital banking, branches will close (my local one has, others have too), the businesses which provided armored cars and men to safeguard money will cease, as there is no use for them anymore with digitized money and in all probability banking will all be online by computers, AI and technology - making most jobs in the banking sector redundant and finished for good, by later this year.
This same digitization of industry will flow on to other sectors of the community where hands on jobs, are replaced by AI and digitization, it is not "sometime", but probably within the next 6 months or so and only hands on Trades, which can't be done by machines, or digitalization, might still exist.
Which all ties in very neatly, timing wise, with The US DOD and your Governments Moderna's Covid-19 Neucloid virus, patented 2013, don't you think - an ordered reduction in the manual workforce (by disease and death) in line with the introduction and replacement of humans, whose jobs, potentially, overnight, have ceased to exist, across the board and at any company level - because of the new digitization "upgrades".
The bottom line then is, do we (who survive this humanity reduction) still need Politicians who made this digitization possible, to improve their net worth at our expense - why NO!!
