An AH HA moment
Microsoft updates your Windows Computer every 4 weeks, you probably don't know it, but it is automatic and unstoppable and in the process Microsoft is using AI to vet your documents and hard drives to remove anything which does not echo Bill's Covid-19 vaccines program policy, that is, any articles you have written, where you personally are opposed to the vaccine program and have those files saved on a thumb drive or hard drive.
Bill's AI searches them out and deletes them from your hard drive without you being aware that they have gone and since I have a complicated password to this site, i lost it that way too, originally and I've still got access only because Bill's AI did not see the relevance of it, in the other place I saved it.
So my principal documents, which I used to refer back to, for the articles I published on my substack are gone - the tites are there, but the content is gone in one case and the whole lot on my other updated version, gone altogether.
Well, I printed out hard copies which I still have and I have a scanner so I can scan them back on my computer, but it is the inconvenience of the thing which is the stopper for the moment - if you have been following my posts and referring back to the articles I have provided with the blue URL's, then fine, tell me so, but if you read just my articles and don't verify them, by the blue URL's, then there is not much point putting them up again, is there?
I presuppose that it really comes down to being vaccinated or not. If you are, you are and if you are not, you are not and nothing I say is going to change anything, because we can't undo what has been done, on the one hand and we who have not been vaccinated, won't ever have a vaccine on the other - so that's that, whatever I publish here, or not - so one way or the other, job done.
I guess I'll have to chalk this one up to Bill - but be advised - like it or lump it, Bill and his AI has a back door into your Windows computer and after each "automatic" upgrade, each month, your files saved, potentially, might end up missing a few and even on your thumb drives, that information is not protected there either.
Your drives might come up with "Errors" and once they do, it is too late to recover anything that Bill's AI has already deleted, you are just finishing the job, by unofficially approving the deletion, without knowing you have - it has gone anyway, whatever it was, unless you have a printed hard copy - which I have on the stuff which really matters to me.
So, indirectly, Fuck you, to Bill's AI and his automatic, back door, upgrades - we are not as free online as we think we are, are we, no matter what name we give ourselves or what we unofficially think and post.
Now that you mention it I have had stuff go missing, memes, articles I've saved. I have a very poor memory so I've chalked it up to me being forgetful and thinking I'd saved it and haven't but am confused because I am sure I did save it.
This is something I notice when in conversation and need to retrieve some article to back up an argument and it's just gone.
I have my laptop rigged so windows can't just update when it likes, I get a notice pop up to restart it and then I run CCleaner after because it always leaves a load of rubbish and pop ups behind.
