London: King Charles III has cancer and will step back from his public duties to receive treatment, Buckingham Palace has announced.
The King, 75, was diagnosed with an unannounced form of cancer after receiving treatment for a benign prostate enlargement. Doctors noticed a separate issue, undertook tests and the King began “regular treatments” this week as an outpatient.

The palace said, at this stage, there would be no need for the King to rely on other members of the royal family to fulfil his duties as head of state, including his weekly audiences with the prime minister, Privy Council meetings and red boxes.
In a statement issued on Tuesday at 5am (AEDT), the palace said the cancer was discovered during his recent hospital procedure with subsequent diagnostic tests identifying “a form of cancer”.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual.”
Several British royal correspondents reported the cancer case was “not typical” and there were some uncertainties about secondary elements of his diagnosis and his ongoing treatment. The most common cancers among men aged over 75 in the UK are bladder, bowel, lung, melanoma skin cancer and prostate cancer, according to Cancer Research UK.
The palace said the King, who only acceded to the throne 16 months ago after the death of his mother, Elizabeth II, was grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention. He remained “wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible”.
“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer,” the palace said.
The palace has paved the way for a public reassurance operation, announcing Prince William would return to duties on Wednesday, with engagements in both Windsor and London. The heir to the throne will take part in an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday before travelling to London to attend a fundraising gala for the London Air Ambulance service.

William, 41, had taken time off work to stay with his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, who is recovering after abdominal surgery. He previously said he would not return to official duties until her care and recovery was settled.
The King was photographed attending church with wife, Queen Camilla, at Sandringham on Sunday – his first public outing since his three-night hospital stay a week ago.
He reportedly had a chance to tell his sons William and Prince Harry and siblings Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward before the announcement.
The BBC said the King had spoken to his Harry, who lives in California with his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, about the diagnosis. The pair have been estranged since Harry’s public criticism of the family, but he will reportedly travel to the UK to see his father on Monday (US time).
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was one of the first to release a statement of support for the King.

Camilla Tominey says while King Charles will be absent from royal duties for a while during cancer treatment, he will attend to certain business.
“I have no doubt he’ll be back to full strength in no time and I know the whole country will be wishing him well,” he said.
The Australian Monarchist League wished the King and his family well and said his commitment to continue state duties was commendable.
“At this time the prayers thoughts and best wishes of all Australians of goodwill will be with the King of Australia and his family as they face this health challenge together,” its statement said.
The King had earlier chosen to go public about his prostate treatment with the aim of encouraging more men to get prostate checks, the palace said at the time.
He was said to have been delighted to have raised awareness about the issue, with the NHS website reporting a surge in issues about prostate conditions.
Both Charles’s grandfather, George VI, and his great uncle Edward VIII – who was king for less than a year before abdicating – died from cancer.
Me: Oh Goody, King Charles had his vaccines too and now he can share the same fate as the other Cancer vaccinated, he regards as Human Rubbish. Let's hope the rest of the WEF are vaccinated too and we see some Cancer action soon, there too.
King Charles III is the originator of The Great Reset scheduled by 2025 and the disposal of we, the Human Rubbish he refers us as being - how fitting King Charles precedes our intended deaths, leaving Queen Camilla on the Throne, to look after all you Pom's, along with your Maharaja Prime Minister - where does he keep his Royal Elephants?

Perhaps he too has fallen for the covid scam! I did wonder whether our dear late Queen had also suffered from the adverse effects we are seeing in our friends, relatives & the general public. We know for sure that the PCR tests & the mRNA jabs themselves were fraudulently used throughout the covid crisis.perhaps our politicians will now realise that they too may develope the adverse effects that are so widely being seen worldwide.
Are Cancer vaccinated people human rubbish because their immune systems failed to battle cancer successfully? Or are they human rubbish because all humans deserve to die? (Overpopulation!) Or are we all just human rubbish to the elites--who are surprised that they are not immortal?
