Hi Christine, recent new subscriber here. Re: your loss of followers - I remember some very vocal debate a while back about a Substack policy that was going to delete subscribers if they hadn't opened one of your emails in (I think, from memory) 6 months.

I'd be happy not to receive emails at all, but just use the Substack inbox. It would be nice for it to be optional (my email is now so cluttered, its fast becoming unuseable).

AND I'm possibly being unsubscribed, involuntarily.

On growing old - yes, it sucks. But if a genie gave me the option of going back to my youthful, vibrant 25 y.o self, but the catch was I lost everything I've learned in the interim and got back my 25 y.o brain and stage of development - I'd take age and experience every time.

What you don't know CAN hurt you, and that accumulated knowledge and wisdom is going to be crucial in the coming years.

Forewarned is forearmed.

I’m a new subscriber to any Substack writers . Probably close to your age or older. I have not begun posting my own site yet as I’m not sure what I want to focus on. If people have 9 lives like cats,I’d be on the 8 th one.

Ive shaken hands with Death a half dozen times along the way and most of my friends and relatives

Have left me here.

Having lived and learned alot over decades, my view of mankind is

Slightly tarnished.

As Sez777 mentioned, my email inbox is overwhelming me also!

New technology is a two- edged sword! I believe Arnold Toynbee warned us about the scourge of advertising?

I’m happy to find you on a no fee platform as I will do likewise when and if I find my voice. I’m busy reading everyone else so far!
